Step 1: Cutting the String
Cut one piece of hemp string that is twice as long as you want the length of the bracelet to be. Then cut another piece that is around 5 times longer than the first string cut.
Step 2: Setting up
· Lay both strings out parallel to eachother, as the picture shows below:

• Fold strings in half, and tie about a half-inch knot in the middle, as the picture shows below:

(An option to help you out: I like to safety pin the knot to my pants, or tape to the table where you will be making the bracelet to keep it in place.)
• Next, Arrange the strings so that the two shorter pieces are in the middle, and the longer ones are on the outsides.

(Another tip: I like to tape the two middle strings down, because they won’t be moving much, and it keeps them down and out of the way.)
Step 3: Making a Spiral Knot
• Take the left outside string (blue) and making a 45˚ angle, to the left, cross over the other 3 strings.

• Next take the outside right string (red), go straight under the left (blue) string, cross over, and pull through the angle made by the left (blue) string.

• Pull tight.
• Repeat this knot and bracelet will take on a wave shape:

Step 4: Adding a Bead.
• At the end of your bracelet, you will need to add a bead. Choose a bead that will fit through the knot you made in the beginning.
• Slide either all four, or two of the strings through the hole in the bead. If you can only fit two, it would be best to put the middle two base strings through.
• Tie a basic knot on the other side of the bead, so the bead will not fall off. Cut excess string.

YAY you are finished! It should look something like this:
